Coming up in November

Sunday 4th November – ‘Service of Commemoration for departed loved ones’. This is an opportunity to come to church for a short service of hymns, readings and prayers to help you to give thanks for the lives of those you have loved and lost and to find support for your continuing journey. The Service will be held in Egerton Church at 4pm. All are very welcome.

“A Time to Reflect”.
Sunday 11th November – Remembrance Day Services (see list of Services for details of services in the benefice). The service in Charing Church will be preceded by a parade up the High Street (weather permitting) of various uniformed associations. There will be a formal Act of Remembrance in Little Chart Church at 9.30am. There will also be a more informal service in Little Chart Church at 11am on a Remembrance theme. All are welcome at any of the services in the benefice. Look out for the Westwell poppy trails and display at Egerton memorial.

“A Time to Celebrate”
Sunday 25th November – Deanery Confirmation. Twice a year, a confirmation service is held in one of the churches in the Deanery. Now it is the turn of the G7 Benefice to host the service. Although we may not have any candidates this time from the benefice, it would still be good if you could be present to welcome members of the deanery churches, and also to offer hospitality. If you are able to make a cake, offer some savoury finger food (sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, vol au vents etc your offerings would be gratefully received.

“A Time to Get Ready”.
Sunday 2nd December – Advent Services. Advent is a time of preparation, of reflecting on the birth of Jesus Christ and looking to His second coming. Advent services often feature candlelight, a reminder of Christ the Light of the World, and hymns that suggest waiting and hoping. As well as all the morning services taking place in each church in the benefice (see list of Services for details) there will be an ecumenical service at Charing Methodist Church at 6pm. All are welcome.
