The most distinctive feature of Taizé worship is the singing, this being based on much repeated prayer-chants, simple phrases taken from the Psalms or other pieces of scripture. The repetition is designed to help meditation and prayer. The singing is interspersed with prayer and silence which are enhanced by the candlelight.

One of the other distinctive features of Taizé worship is the manner in which it is accompanied by instruments which weave their own melodies into the fabric of the music. If you play a musical instrument to a reasonable standard, or you are a singer, and would like to take part in this act of worship, please let me know as soon as possible, either by email sheilacox@g7benefice.org or by telephone 01233 712598.

We look forward to welcoming you to this service.
