Holy Week and Easter

Holy Week and Easter are some the high points of our Christian calendar here in the G7 Benefice and we have many services all around the Benefice at this time of the year. In particular Easter Sunday, which immediately follows Holy Week, is a great day when we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.

Don’t miss one of our best-loved services of the whole year: the Sunrise Communion (followed by continental breakfast) on Easter Sunday 8 Apr at St Mary the Virgin Church, Eastwell Lane, Westwell. This really is something very special indeed.

For young people in particular, including our G7Teen youth group (11-16 year-olds), we have the brilliant Easter Monday Youth Pilgrimage (EMYP):

Starting off at Chartham (meet 9:45) we do a mini-pilgrimage from there into Canterbury to the Cathedral. Last year Archbishop Rowan joined us for the walk. We Finish at 14:45 at the Cathedral (either back by train to Chartham – bring train fare or parents can pick up from Canterbury). Contact Mim on 07725 112141 for more details and to confirm you are coming. Parents need to sign an EMYP consent form.

Hear all about the story Holy Week and Easter and what it all means. Whatever your age we hope to make your Holy Week and Easter a brighter one. We look forward to welcoming you. We wish you a good Holy Week and a Happy Easter, God Bless.
