Charing Church of England (Aided) Primary School celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in style today (Thursday 31st May).
The children were privileged to be joined by some VIP guests from Charing who were able to talk with the children about their memories of the Queen’s Coronation in 1953.
The children then gathered for a party lunch in two large marquees beautifully decorated by the PTFA with flags, and bunting especially made for the occasion by Mrs Ruth Burns.
The children and special guests enjoyed party food and a special performance of the National Anthem by the Teacher’s and Classroom Assistants and the children. After lunch the children all enjoyed games on the playing-field including the rather apt ‘pin the tail on the corgi’!
To round off the afternoon there was a special Service of Thanksgiving for the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen in the school hall led by Rev. Richard Webb.
Many thanks to the children, staff, VIP guests (including Richard of course), and the PTFA, for making this such a very special day. Mrs. Niki Paterson, Acting Head Teacher wanted to thank the VIP’s in particular: “Thank you to our VIP’s for making the day so memorable and special for the pupils.”
