Our wonderful, cheerful, and life affirming Sue Starkings has been a Deacon with us for almost a year now, and so – on Saturday 30th June at 5pm – she will be ‘Ordained Priest’ in Canterbury Cathedral. This will be an incredible service and something well worth attending, not least to support Sue.
Once ordained Sue will continue with us and serve the whole of the G7 Benefice as Assistant Curate to our Rector, The Reverend Sheila Cox. That’s not all:
On Sunday 1st July we will be celebrating our very first Eucharist with Sue in her new capacity as an ordained priest (Assistant Curate) at St Margaret’s Church, Hothfield at 10.30am. This memorable and joyful celebration will be followed by a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch. Note there will be no other services on 1st of July except an 8am Holy Communion at Holy Trinity Church, Charing Heath.
So come and celebrate with Sue on this very special occasion, and come and get to know her a bit better afterwards at the ‘Bring and Share’ lunch. Remember, before long she’ll be coming to share a little of her joyousness with you in your parish, so it would be good to be with her at the beginning of this part of her journey with us, at her first Eucharist… We are privileged to have Sue with us in the G7 so let’s let her know it! 🙂
