165 Shoeboxes filled!

Is it Carole Morgan’s house or the North Pole? Either way it’s looking decidedly festive…

Congratulations to all those in the Benefice who helped fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. You were part of a fantastic effort that means 165 children in Third World and struggling countries will have a Christmas they will never forget! Through charities like this we, the believing people of God, are living the true meaning of Christmas. It warms my heart to see such generosity.

Many of you have paid online for the shipping costs and will be notified when your shoeboxes will arrive and also where they end up so when this happens please email me (mimoliver@g7benefice.org) and let me know. It would be lovely to be able to track boxes and perhaps see videos of them being handed out and opened.

Being in ministry myself one doesn’t often get to see the results or impact of the labour and prayer that goes into it. We rely on faith and hope that God will use us. So I encourage you to continue the good work, even if you’re not immediately (or ever) aware of the results. And remember those nearby within our Benefice for whom Christmas may not be a happy occasion.

Finally, big thanks to Carole Morgan for hosting these boxes in her house while we wait for their collection. And thanks to those of you who opted to send your contributions directly to the depot.
