Dean brings sunshine to Little Chart

Dean Robert Willis at Little Chart

The Dean enjoys coffee and a chat after the G7 Eucharist at Little Chart

The Dean of Canterbury Cathedral, the Very Reverend Robert Willis, brought the sunshine with him on Sunday (31st July) when he gave the sermon at  St Mary the Virgin, Little Chart.
In a warm, effusive and sunny sermon based on Matthew 14:13-21 Dean Willis highlighted the sacred in the little things, and the power of small contributions to add up to great things. The Dean drew a comparison with the ten-shilling contributions that made the building of St Mary’s possible in the ‘fifties, replacing the church destroyed by a V1 rocket in WWII. Dean Willis welcomed Sue Starkings as the G7’s new Deacon and emphasised the G7’s new beginning as The Benefice of G7 at the start of its first full month.

After the Eucharist service, led by The Reverend Philip Cox, the Dean and many others enjoyed coffee and conversation in the sunlit, simple and elegant interior of the church.
